Meet The Doctor

Robert J. Knox, DDS

Dr. Knox has practiced periodontics in Greensboro since 1990, when he finished his periodontal specialty training.

He earned board certification by the American Board of Periodontology in 1994. Board certification requires passing rigorous written and oral exams and signifies achievement beyond the mandatory educational requirements of the specialty.

A native of Greensboro, he graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a bachelor of arts in chemistry and was valedictorian of his class at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Dentistry. His post-graduate periodontal training was at Louisiana State University in New Orleans where he received extensive training in implantology.

He is a member of the American Academy of Periodontology, the American Dental Association, the Southern Academy of Periodontology, the North Carolina Association of Periodontists, the North Carolina Dental Society, and the Guilford County Dental Society. He is also a part-time faculty member in the Department of Periodontics at UNC and is on staff at Moses Cone Hospital system.

Dr. Knox and his wife have one son who is a naval reactors engineer with the U.S. Navy.
